Meet Joanne Trujillo, L.Ac., Your Denver Highlands Acupuncturist
Joanne Trujillo brings over 17 years of experience to her Chinese medicine practice in Denver's Highlands neighborhood, with patients traveling in from Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, Arvada, and Sunnyside, serving the Greater Denver area.
She holds a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and is a Colorado licensed acupuncturist. Beyond her MSOM from Southwest Acupuncture College, she also earned a B.S. in Human Nutrition from Colorado State University, along with several additional certifications gained throughout her career as a healthcare professional.
Joanne evaluates every patient holistically, weighing physical, emotional, and psychological factors together rather than treating symptoms in isolation. That approach comes from a genuine appreciation for natural medicine and a commitment to effective, compassionate care.
Joanne's areas of special interest include NAET allergy elimination, ProCell facial microneedling, pain management, and women's health. Every treatment is administered with a painless needle technique, so sessions stay comfortable from start to finish.

A Colorado native, Joanne is passionate about everything the state has to offer. She snowboards, bikes, rollerskates in the park, and enjoys live music and travel. Outside the clinic, she spends her time with her husband, son, and their two dogs, or catching up with family and friends.

Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Masters Degree Program

The Master's program at Southwest Acupuncture College includes 3,000 hours of training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, physical therapy, nutrition, and exercise and breathing therapy. Most of those hours go to acupuncture and herbal medicine, with the remainder covering graduate-level Oriental medicine and Western science. Graduates earn a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, or MSOM.

Joanne trained in the Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Techniques, or NAET, under Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad, M.D., D.C., L.Ac., Ph.D., who developed NAET as a new approach to diagnosing and eliminating allergies.
Joanne is certified in facial microneedling with the ProCell device through a certified, mentored ProCell training program.
Joanne is also certified in cosmetic acupuncture, a non-invasive treatment that softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. She trained in the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture system under Dr. Martha Lucas, a well-known teacher, author, and speaker in Chinese medicine.
